Alright.  So it may be no secret that both Yukino and Mayama love to look at pretty boys.  And I think that's an understatement. At any rate, due to our love for all things pretty, Asian, and drawings, we decided to create a new feature where we will present the public with a "Bishounen of the Month".  This could either be one specific character or a subset of characters that Mayama and I have deemed beautiful and worthy of visual admiration.  My plan is that once I figure out what is actually going on I'll have some sort of forum where people can vote on who they think should be the next month's bishounen and give us reasons why and things of that sort, but for now...I think Mayama and I will be making the call.  I suppose you could post in the forum and tell us who you want to see for now.  I think that may be the way to go about it.  Past months will be archived via links at the bottom so you can see who has been selected in the past.   And so, without further ado...........

Bishounen of the month for SEPTEMBER is..........IZUMI SANO (HANA-KIMI)

Izumi Sano
Age: 17
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black
Occupation: Student, high jump star.
Interests: Staying out of people's business, high jumping, protecting his roommate, Yujiro.
Dislikes: Sweet things, Kagurazaka, most girls, people getting too close to Mizuki, talking about himself, Akiha Hara, his dad.
Strengths: High jump, his intelligence, he's a good friend, he's incredibly protective of those he cares about.
Weaknesses: His brother, Mizuki, people finding out about his personal life, alcohol.

Izumi hails from Hokkaidō. His family consists of his father, stepmother and younger brother Shin. His father was his high jump coach in Junior High pressured Sano and and forced him to jump higher and higher. For that reason, Sano despised his father and refused to see or talk to him, going as far as to enroll into Osaka Gakuen on a scholarship, refusing his father's money. Mizuki Ashiya (a girl) enrolls at Osaka Gakuen in order to get closer to her favorite high jumper (Sano) and ends up his roommate. Osaka is an all-boys school, so Mizuki must keep her identity as a girl a secret. Sano finds out very quickly that Mizuki is a girl, but he wants to protect her and keep her secret. He gradually comes to fall in love with her throughout the series, until it turns out that he's really keeping Mizuki's secret in order to keep him close to her. His personality softens dramatically throughout the series as a result of Mizuki's presence, and Sano becomes a much better friend to everyone as a result.

WHY WE LIKE HIM....

         MAYAMA:  Well...Sano is a pretty boy. However, I think I really like him, because underneath his cool aloofness he's really a sweet guy. So, you get the wonderful coolness on a daily basis, but you also get a really cute guy. Plus I mean the guy has crazy ups.

         YUKINO:  At first....Sano is just an ass. No way around it. But then you realize that deep down he's a really good friend, a really good brother, and a really sweet person all around. And he really cares about Mizuki and protecting her. He's loyal to a fault. Plus when Akiha dresses him up he's m-freaking-sexy.
