Bishounen of the month for MAY is..........KUNIMITSU TEZUKA (THE PRINCE OF TENNIS)

Tennis season is in full swing now (I meant to post this in April when the season was getting started), so I thought we should honor the hottest tennis player in all of anime (maybe the world......Andy Roddick, you have a contender)....Seisun Gakuen Tennis Club Captain Kunimitsu "Hot Guy" Tezuka! That's right.....May is officially the Tezuka Zooooooooone!!!!!!! For one more picture (ABSOLUTELY FOR REAL ONLY IF YOU'RE OVER 18), that we both really like.....please click here.

NEW FEATURE!! Bishounen profiles...get to know your pretty boys:

Kunimitsu Tezuka
Age: 14 (yeah, right)
Eyes: Grey
Hair: Brown
Occupation: 3rd year middle schooler, captain of the Seigaku Tennis Club, Student Council President.
Interests: Tennis (duh), fishing and hiking in the woods, tea ceremony and judo, learning German, playing in the Nationals.
Dislikes: People not taking practice seriously, breaking rules, when people reveal his weakness, Inui juice, outwardly showing emotion, being mistaken for an adult.
Strengths: Tennis playing, ability to take everything seriously, being able to play with both hands, superior intelligence, natural born leader, fair and sticks to the rules, puts the team's success ahead of his own health.
Weaknesses: Sometimes too serious, often mistaken for an adult, puts the team ahead of his health, his past injury, Shusuke Fuji and Ryoma Echizen.
Tennis Style: All-rounder, dominant with left hand, but can play with his right as well.
Special Techniques: Zero-shiki Drop Shot, Zero-shiki Serve, Tezuka Zone, Tezuka Phantom, Hyaku Ren Jitoku no Kiwami (Pinnacle of Hard Work) and Saiki Kanpatsu no Kiwami (Pinnacle of Great Wisdom)

As the captain of the tennis team, Tezuka is serious about everything he does, and is very strict; one of his trademark phrases is "Don't let your guard down" ("Yudan sezu ni ikō"). Still, he is fair and sticks to his word; if the rules are broken, he punishes everyone, including the regulars. He often makes the entire team run laps when they break the rules - a trait which he inherited from former captain Yūdai Yamato. Tezuka is shown to never smile, though he is apparently immensely popular among the female fans of his school. It is only until his team becomes the National champions at the end of the series that he shows a smile, though he instantly reverts back when Fuji points out the fact. Still, the fact that Tezuka never smiles and always look so serious has been made into a running joke in the series. Tezuka is one of two people, the other being Shusuke Fuji, who are immune to Sadaharu Inui's famous vegetable juices. Though he seems to dislike it, he outwardly shows no reaction due to his always serious attitude. However, he quickly and sternly declines an offer to drink it later on. He also picks up some character traits from his grandfather, who is a former police officer and is currently teaching judo at a police academy. Also, Tezuka looks older than his actual age, despite the fact that many characters also look older. There are many instances where he is mistaken for an adult, often as his teammates' teacher.

WHY WE LIKE HIM....

MAYAMA:  The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Tezuka is his beautiful piercing eyes, it's like he's staring into my soul, and...well...Mayama likes his boys like that. Another thing I love about Tezuka is that balls the world over are under his cool, steady control, and once they get to him he knows what to do with them. Lastly how can you not love someone who you know has the insight and intelligence to do exactly what is best for you, and the team, that's pretty incredible.

YUKINO:  Not only is Tezuka the glasses character (we all know how much Yukino likes the glasses character), he's also somewhat brooding and mysterious. I often find myself wondering what's going on under that emotionless exterior. Does he secretly love Fuji, deep down inside?? Or maybe Ryoma??? We'll never know....he's so good at hiding it! And that's what makes Tezuka intriguing.....you never know what he's thinking. I've not seen him ACTUALLY play tennis yet, so I can't comment there, but I imagine he plays tennis at some point. I'm looking forward to finding out what that's like.
