ROLE IN THE SERIES: Light Yagami is an exceptionally intelligent, yet very bored human who inherited the Death Note of the Shinigami Ryuuk. Using the power of the Death Note, Light has set about on a crusade to use his intellect and moral standing to create a better world. However, the world gets a little disturbed by his public facade "Kira's" actions and attempt to shut down his well meaning and well crafted plans. Now Light must continue to fight the good fight while avoiding the police and those who would stop him, including his father and his closest friend.
WHY WE LIKE HIM....
MAYAMA: Light is one of the most compelling characters I have ever read. He is not a hero, nor is he a villain, but he could be seen as a little bit of either depending on what light you view him in. He has a very clean sense of style and always seems composed. It is this cool intellect that makes him a boy I'd like to have on my side. In addition to his attitude and brain Light also does have a fine face going for him. So, Light brings a little bit of everything to the table for a Bishonen, but a damn fine Bishonen he is.
YUKINO: Light is interesting. I don't usually read anything in Shonen Jump, but with Death Note I find myself making a HUGE exception. He and L have managed to somehow make their way into a manga that steals my soul. I saw a trailer for the anime coming out this month and the movies, and I just couldn't wait. He makes me want more...more...more. I can completely relate to Misa Misa and her complete obsession with him. He's cool, he's SUPER smart, he's a smart-ass, and he's outwitted all of the NPA....numerous times! What about this boy is NOT to love?!?!?!
